The 2300
Angelo’s Pizzeria
Philadelphia, PA
Stepping out of the pizzeria out on the street, we see Alex Nelson, drink in hand, a box with a slice of pepperoni in the other.
(He’s dressed in black and white track shorts, black Nike sneakers and a black “Bastard Son” hoodie)
He notices the camera, stops and takes a sip of his soda.
“So I got beat by Savage, obviously I underestimated his time in the ring, while he taught me a harsh lesson…”
Continuing down the street, the camera catches the long line of the people trying to get into the neighboring venue, The 2300 Arena, to which Alex walks past heading toward the crosswalk.
“This place is important to wrestling history, obviously, Dad would love to wrestle here one day, I’m sure…
He stops and carefully opens the pizza box and grabs a bite or two before putting it back and continuing down the street.
“But I’m not here to pay homage to a bygone era, I’m here to move my goal posts forward, mold myself into a better wrestler and one day be a champion in CWF.”
“More recently, I’ve gotten into Japanese style wrestling, the spirit, the culture and it’s becoming an influence on how I approach my matches.”
“And even though I’ve been losing a lot, I still pick up things, I still learn things, and someone willing to learn in this sport is just as dangerous as any table, chair or barbed wire bat that was used here.”
“So Fiona, you may overlook me, justifiably so, you’ve got bigger ambitions, that I have no doubt, but I look straight ahead, to Warzone, to you, and I plan on bringing all the experience I’ve had, all the knowledge I’ve gained and bring you back to the present and even for a brief moment….
He stops at the crosswalk, waiting for the signal to change.
“Acknowledge me.”
