The scene opens at the steps of the museum where we see the iconic Rocky Balboa statue and the many tourists taking photos of and around it. There we see Steve Murdock sitting alongside the neighboring fountain looking out onto the city.

(Steve’s dressed in jeans, a rather careworn black and blue Genesis t-shirt, a black windbreaker and black and white Converse sneakers.)

“Well, he we are, in the seat of liberty and freedom, how ironic…”

”You see, Elizabeth had her daughter kidnapped not too long ago, albeit she wasn’t assaulted and strapped to a chair, she was taken, but nonetheless…”

He takes out a penny from his pants pocket and throws it into the fountain.

“You have my sympathies, as a parent as well, I know it’s a horrible situation to have your child taken from you…”

“At least you would have had I forgotten the not too distant past wherein you seemed to be fine with kidnapping, even if it was under your own damn roof!”

“I could rehash the details of my son Alex being kidnapped by your bastard husband, while you were there and cognizant of the situation and somehow true to your name, Apathetic.”

“You didn’t seem to care when it was someone else’s kid being tortured, I guess it’s fine when it’s some son of a nobody, right? Is that the long and short of it? But now that your apathy has come to bite you in the ass, are we to be afraid of a mother in pain and rage?”

"It could be the remnants of the concussion I suffered after being thrown off a three tiered cage, after our match was done by Eoin, but you’ll get no sympathy from me.”

“All I got when I tried to find Alex and get him home was scorn and derision, not even an ounce of sympathy from the locker room.”

“I’ve got no love loss for the Eternal Grove, mind you, I’ve still got stitches from the stab wound Vespertine gave me, but you, I’ve got nothing for you, well I’ll take that back, I’ve got a little something for you, and you’ll find it funny….apathy, I’ve got apathy for your ordeal.”

“I hate to borrow lines from someone else, but if I was a praying man, I would say I prayed for something like this, but I’m definitely not that fortuitous.”
