What Hell coughed up…
Bob Secours Wellness Arena
The scene opens in the arena as crews set up for Civil Warfare, setting up chairs, testing sound, lighting, etc. All but one man, sitting in a seat in the nosebleed section, Steve Murdock…
He’s dressed in blue jeans, red and white Converse sneakers, and a well worn, somewhat singed “CWF Tribal Warfare” black sleeveless t-shirt. He’s a bit leaner since his fall from the triple tier cage and he’s gained a little more muscle definition from his time rehabbing.
Noticing the camera, he smiles…
“Look who hell coughed up, it’s me, it’s me, is Steee, veee, eee!”
“Did you think you could really get rid of me that easily, Eoin, the wrestling hitman, the wrestling assassin, the merc with a headlock, I’ll give you this, it took some time for me to get back here, but I’m back and I am hungrier than ever for a match…
He leans forward, motioning for the camera man to zoom in closer.
“Lance, I’m sorry kid, but Civil Warfare isn’t your day, I’m going to make a statement, not only in the ring against a former Valor champion, but I’m going to make this the first step on a road to gold, my road to a finally holding a title here in Conquest.”
“My son so fondly reminded me that in all the time I’ve been here I’ve gotten close, just a three count away from a title, but I’ve never been a champion, and that’s changing, I’m focusing all my energy on challenging for a title, and for that I’ve got to start winning matches, so I start with one..”
He reaches into his back pants pocket and pulls out his wallet.
“But understand, I’ve not forgotten how I’ve got here, you see in my downtime, I got a chance to improve my mental focus, my physical acumen and I even got my alcohol server license not too long ago, because a little birdy told me about an Irish Pub Brawl, and sure, you don’t really to be certified to sling Guinness, but I had the time, and you never know when I might get the chance to blast an old friend in the face with a heavy glass pint.”
“So I’m sure the higher ups would want someone certified behind the bar to make sure things are safe in the Eoin’s and the good Father’s match…”
“But that not withstanding, Lance, bring your A game, bring the former Valor champion, bring the best version of yourself you’ve got, because if you don’t, the best version, the version, the version Heaven couldn’t handle and Hell didn’t want will make you wish I’d stayed home..”
